What do you when you have a 6-year-old little girl whose fame-starved mother died tragically of an overdose when the child was but an tiny infant?
Well, you start pimping her out, of course!
At least, that’s the line of thinking Larry Birkhead had regarding his and Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter, DanniLynn Birkhead.
Oh to be sure, DanniLynn is absolutely adorable, but I think we can all agree that perhaps the spotlight at such a young age is not the best thing for her. However, a check is a check, money talks and all that jazz, and Larry just couldn’t resist when brass from Guess approached him about having DanniLynn be the face of a couple of their ads.
‘People have said she’s already stepping into her mom’s shoes and that’s very broad. I want to be clear this was just a tribute. She’s still a kid at heart, and she’s going to stay that way as long as possible. It’s really a tribute to her mom more than anything. She’s not going to be a model. Her mom’s history with Guess was very positive. The ads were iconic and timeless. She asked me if she was going to be on the shopping bags like her mom. She was really excited about it. She had great time on the shoot. It was really just a day at the beach, playing in the sand.
So what do you think? Distasteful? Or cute? Do you think Larry will really keep DanniLynn sheltered from this point forward, or is this just the beginning of the parental pimping that is so prevalent in Hollywood?
