Everybody Went to See The Avengers

What happens when you have Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Scarlett Johansson and Mark Ruffalo’s fine asses in a single movie, and you put that movie up agaisnt cinematic offerings such as The Three Strooges and The Raven?

That movie breaks pretty much every record, ever, which is exactly what happened with The Avengers.

As you probably know by now, pretty much everyone in the US went to see The Avengers over the weekend – except for me.  I was waiting for you bitches to settle down so I can grab it without having to wait in ridiculously long lines or sit having to sit right next to some fat old guy not wearing deodorant and chawing down popcorn by the gallon on one side while being sandwiched by a texting teenaged asshole on the other.

Among pretty much every other record cinematic record broken for opening weekends (except midnight showings – the final Harry Potter installment retained that honor), the flick has SMASHED the All-Time Opening Weekend record with $200.3M (note:  ComicBookMovie is now reporting that Disney has confirmed the tally is UP from that estimate to a mind-blowing $207m as of this writing).

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt 2, which just broke The Dark Knight’s record last year, is now in a distant second place with $169M.

By the way, The Avengers has already raked in a whopping $641 million worldwide.

Anyway, this is how the rest of the weekend box office rounded out, according to Box Office Mojo. One question: who is actually paying to see The Three Stooges? What is wrong with you?!
