How Much Did “The Voice” Pay Christina Aguilera for Season 3?
Hot damn, get it girl! I can’t even hate on this!
The Voice was serious about making sure that Christina Aguilera wasn’t going anywhere for the third season of NBC’s popular talent show. So serious, it basically opened it’s checkbook, wrote Christina’s name in the “Pay to the Order” field, and let her fill in the amount.
And just what was that amount? According to TheWrap A big fat $10 million dollars!
Aguilera is the first of the four judges to renew her contract for next season. And on top of Aguilera’s renewal – which shows just how much NBC not only wants, but needs The Voice, which is one of their only hit shows – the network is considering bringing back the show in the fall instead of waiting until 2013 to launch season 3.
Another insider says that Aguilera isn’t the only judge NBC is banking on for a return – they want the entire judge’s panel back. This is good news, as previous rumors suggested the network was willing to replace some of the judges. However, there can be no doubt that Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo and Blake Shelton have this certain chemistry that would be heard to recreate with just anyone.
And let’s put it this way: aside from NBC’s football broadcasts – which just culminated the Super Bowl – The Voice is the network’s highest rated show. And to top it off, with the show’s first two episodes this season, it’s beating talent show juggernaut American Idol in the ratings. Of course, one of those episodes aired in the coveted post-Super Bowl time slot, but Monday’s 6.6 rating and 17.7 million viewers was still hardly anything to sneeze at.
So, I think these guys are pretty much getting whatever they ask for.
