Puffy To Launch a Revamped “MTV”

Sean “Puffy” Combs announced that he is going to dip his toe into cool, shady pool of a new business – a music and music news network, with a slight taste of social networking.

Puffy wants to call his station “Revolt,” which will be broadcast in conjunction with Comcast in 2013 and is considered, according to Combs as, “the first channel created entirely from the ground up in this new era of social media.”

If “new era” means “will actually play music videos” then I’m all for it!

Combs also said that Revolt will be a platform that will reach a very large number of people at the same time, but in different ways and will become part of music television history.

Apparently Combs isn’t the only celeb that Comcast is hooking up with to create new television networks – Comcast is also pairing up with Magic Johnson to create a show call Aspire, which will be geared towards African Americans, and Comcast is also working with Robert Rodriguez, the filmmaker, to create a network called El Rey, which will feature “Hispanic producers, celebrities, and public figures.”
