Madison Davenport, a great young actress. Let’s hope she isn’t the next Lilo.
I love the Showtime show Shameless, it will most likely make just about anyone feel good about their parents and or crazy family. William H. Macy has gotten accolades and awards for his performances on the show, but last week Madison Davenport stole the show.
I missed the episode because of, well our crazy schedule here at CGN. I mean really, we barely have time to sleep let alone watch TV when it actually airs. So tonight I’m catching up. First, let me say that watching Madison in this show just reinforces my feeling that I never want to have daughters.
Okay, so her character in the show was mixed up in a twisted version of “Big Love” before winding up under the roof of V and Kevin and granted it’s certainly a crazy stretch (I hope) of anything young Morman girls have to deal with. But still, it’s just scary and makes me not want to have daughters. Just watch the show you’ll get it.
So in this latest episode, Madison’s character Ethel runs off with a young man who is 14 and a single parent like her (yikes). What’s ironic is that Ethel and this young man are arguably the best role models and parents in the entire show. I’m not kidding.
It’s both sweet, inspirational and scary all at the same time. But the point of this post is that the young actress gave an incredible performance and I’m sure this is just one of many in her career.
But Madison please, we beg of you, don’t end up like Lilo. Truly, that would be shameless selfish.
