Gisele Bundchen Gets Unlikely Support – from the Giants!
Gisele Bundchen is getting support from an unlikely source these days: a couple of the New York Giants.
Bundchen is the black sheep of New England this week. The super model made now infamous comments shortly after the Patriots Super Bowl loss Sunday to defend husband Tom Brady after getting mercilessly heckled by a Giants fan. Bundchen told a group of friends that Tom “couldn’t fucking throw the ball and catch the ball himself.”
Let me point out, not only is this true, but probably echoes a sentiment that during the game many Pats fans were thinking themselves. A series of perfectly thrown but uncaught passes definitely helped contribute to the team’s loss. Also, this is Gisele’s husband. Why shouldn’t she stand up for their husband in this position, especially in the moments after such a heartbreaking loss?
However, many in New England immediately jumped on Gisele, who probably shouldn’t have made the comments in such a public setting (and risk having them caught on camera, as they were). But seriously, the uproar that arose from the northeastern states – with some comparing Bundchen to Yoko Ono for crissakes – was just absolutely ridiculous. Gisele didn’t lose the game, guys. You’re under-performing home team did.
So, it’s a bit heartening to hear someone stand up for the girl, even it it comes from the same team that just beat her husband in the biggest football of the year.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight during Jay-Z’s charity concert at Carnegie Hall, Giant’s player Victor Cruz said, ”She’s defending her husband and I understand that. I wouldn’t want it any other way. I think she’s the only one who vocalized it, that’s why she’s getting the most grief about it.”
Christopher Snee added, “You know, Sometimes things are said. Obviously it’s a very disappointing loss for them and obviously she was upset for her husband.”
