Adele: “I’m Taking Off Four or Five Years”
I’m selfish enough to hope that Adele gets away from being happy in relationships and finds some misery again, because – let’s be honest – she’s excellent when she’s heartbroken.
However, Adele is not hearing my self-serving cry (one shared by fans worldwide, I’d bet) because she does not want to be in anymore “rubbish relationships.” In an interview wth Vogue magazine, the singer – who is pretty much on top of the world after taking home 6-of-6 Grammys Sunday night, admits that she wants out of the music biz for a while.
“I am f***ing off for four or five years. If I am constantly working, my relationships fail,” she tells Vogue.
“At least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy. And then I don’t know what I’ll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch.”
Um. No. Please. God. NOOOOOOOOOO!
I really hope this was a stretch of truth (or she breaks up with boyfriend Simon Konecki, thus leaving her with so much pent-up emotion an album titled “23″ has to be made).
Plus, I really need her to do that North American tour. I haven’t seen her in concert, and the thought of not being able to hear that powerhouse voice live is too much for me to bear.
Please Adele, please remember this is all about my needs, not yours!
