Sean Penn: Actor, Philanthropist, Playboy… Ambassador???
Actor Sean Penn likes to have his hand in a little of this and little of that all over the world. He has always been known as a flirt, as an amazing actor, and as a very charitable man, but now he will also be known as the Ambassador to Haiti.
The foreign minister to Haiti, Laurent Lamothe, offered Penn the job on Saturday at the Cinema for Peace benefit in Beverley Hills. Penn promptly accepted the proposal, saying jokingly that it will be nice to “change being called hey you (expletive), to hey Mr. Ambassador.”
Sean Penn has been working tirelessly to aid the people of Haiti ever since the devastating earthquake on January 12, 2010. Penn was the co-founder of the J/P Haitian Relief Organization, which helped set up housing for the desolated country.
Congrats Mr. Ambassador. You’ll put the “ASS” in AmbASSador!
