FOR SALE: The Dodgers

Frank McCourt decided to do the responsible thing and sell the Los Angeles Dodgers to a person or entity who has a brain and a bigger pocket than he.

Frank and his soon-to-be ex-wife, Jamie, have been fighting over whether the Dodgers were “community property” and therefore something that must be divided in their divorce for months. Jamie recently relinquished her claim to the Dodgers in the divorce settlement. Prior to all of that, the MLB and the Dodger’s franchise came to the realization that Frank did not have enough money to fund the team and its employees and rumors started swirling that he would take the team down a financial rabbit hole if he didn’t give it up.

Frank had been fighting to retain ownership of his team for a long, long time until Tuesday when he basically said ‘F-it’ and surrendered his ownership hold.

Now the question is – how the hell do you sell the Los Angeles Dodgers? There are a shit ton of players involved at this point, i.e. MLB, the bankruptcy judge, the divorce judge, and the Blackstone Group, who is in charge of managing the bids and applications for purchase.

If you or someone you know are interested in submitting a bid to buy the Los Angeles Dodgers, please send the bid and the formal application to: The Blackstone Group, 1299 Ocean Avenue, Suite 320, Santa Monica, California 90401.

Also, if you have a clue how much major league baseball teams are going for these days, particularly ones with shit seasons, so-so players, a debt that rivals the United States’ debt, and enough back publicity to make LiLo jealous, please let me know because I don’t have a clue!
