Billy Bob's Daughter Is Going to Prison
Billy Bob Thornton’s estranged daughter, Amanda Brumfield, was convicted of aggravated manslaughter of a child this past May. Yesterday she received her sentence: 20 years in prison.
The incident stemmed after Amanda was babysitting her goddaughter, Olivia Madison Garcia, in October 2008 when the child fell and hit her head and died around two hours later after she couldn’t be revived. Amanda initially told police that he child was trying to climb out of her playpen when she fell and hit her head. The autopsy showed that the child had a fractured skull and a brain injury.
Amanda was initially indicted in 2009 for first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, and aggravated manslaughter, but only the aggravated manslaughter stuck at the close of the trial.
